About the Event

Please join us after Halloween 2019 for the GWIS Philadelphia Chapter's Spook-tacular Science Symposium. 

The goal of this symposium is to present scary and/or unpublishable data, and (tbh) just to have fun!!

We encourage you to present in your Halloween costume and there will be prizes for the first place and worst place ones. 

Registration is free, but please register so that we can get a head-count for food and presentations! 

Keynote speaker: Rachel Valletta, Ph.D., The Franklin Institute.  

Symposium Schedule (tentative):  

10:00-10:30AM - Registration, coffee & donuts

10:30-11:00AM - Welcome address, introduction to GWIS, and opening statements

11:00AM-12:00PM - Keynote address

12:00-2:00PM - Poster session & Lunch

2:00-3:00PM - Costume contest

3:00-4:00PM - Social/Happy hour (with pies!)
